QUEEN OF NOTHING

The making of the Album

Self-penned, self-funded, and recorded February 28 - March 1, 2020 at The Smoakstack in Nashville. The making of this album is one of my last memories of the pre-pandemic world. A few days after we tracked the bones of this album, a tornado would rip through Nashville, followed by a global pandemic that changed…well, everything. Thankfully, we got the majority of the album done in those 3 days. Over the course of 2020, I worked in small groups and remotely with all the key players—my producer, the background vocalists, additional musicians brought in for overdubs, and the mixing and mastering engineer—to finish the album. Scroll through the carousel gallery below for a handful of shots from our initial recording session. Photography by Alicia St. Gelais.

With, ‘Queen of Nothing’ Ellyn has let her own voice shine both musically and lyrically demonstrating a refreshing independent spirit that deserves to persist amongst the denizens of Music City and further afield.
— Americana UK
Honest and personal storytelling...refreshing and quite
relatable, especially as we begin to emerge from this last year.
— WMOT Roots Radio
Ellyn scorches the earth in her musical wake, leaving the sort of impression that signals she’s going to be around for a very long time.”

What you can expect from me

_BWR3876.jpg

Hard work. Creative ideation. Thick skin. Good attitude.

…and all the things you’d expect from working with an artist who doubles as a senior marketer at a global corporation. (Minus the office politics and the insufferable corporate buzzwords.)

I’m looking for unique ways to share this album with music lovers, and I hope we can work together.
